A smooth transition, every time

Updating, upgrading or migrating?

If your Drupal website is due an upgrade, for instance, because your current website is outdated or you want to revise the design, the transition from Drupal 7 or earlier to a later Drupal version often means rebuilding (migrating) your website. That’s because Drupal 8 is technically very different from Drupal 7 and full of features that aren’t present in Drupal 7. From Drupal 8 onwards, the update pattern is however set up differently so that the transition to Drupal 9 and all subsequent versions will only be a small step. That makes Drupal all the more attractive!

Drupal 9 launched in June of 2020

The latest version of Drupal (Drupal 9) has been launched in June of 2020! It's the easiest upgrade in a decade thanks to community-driven innovation. With a website in Drupal 9, you benefit from the latest features, the best maintained modules and high-quality privacy and security standards.

Upgrading your Drupal 7 website

If you currently have a Drupal 7 website, we advise you to not wait any longer and upgrade your Drupal 7 website to Drupal 8 / 9. Official support for Drupal 7 will be discontinued in November 2021. After that, you might be able to make use of commercial parties who offer paid security updates, but you will no longer benefit from the security and certainty of the worldwide Drupal community. So it’s a good idea to take the first steps towards upgrading your website to Drupal 9 by no later than the second quarter of 2020.

Upgrading your Drupal 8 website

If you’re already on Drupal 8, upgrading a Drupal 8 website to Drupal 9 from mid-2020 onwards is (as we said earlier) only a small step, as long as your Drupal 8 website has been properly maintained. Our technical team will be pleased to carry out a Drupal website audit with you to look at the setup and status of your current Drupal website, so that they can give you solid advice about upgrading your Drupal website.
